The true SGA reaction to the NBA championship banner is pure gold
The Oklahoma City Thunder they finally immortalized their crowning achievement in their home stadium. As usual on opening day, OKC’s championship banner is hung from the rafters of Pejkom Stadium. It was a great reminder of the Thunder’s incredible run last season and the work everyone in the organization had to do to get to that point.
Even the thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander he found himself mesmerized by the whole ceremony. Zvezda was asked after their game about his reaction to the banner raising ceremony. Answer from SGA filled with wonder and awe, the reigning MVP is clearly feeling the emotions of winning the championship again.

The Thunder were the most dominant team in the NBA last season, cruising to the top seed in the 2025 NBA playoffs with a 68-14 record. With SGA as the focal point of the offense and the rest of the supporting cast playing their roles to perfection, the Thunder entered the playoffs as clear favorites.
The Thunder would live up to being a playoff favorite. They swept the top-seeded Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, then swept the defending champion Denver Nuggets in seven games to advance to the conference finals. There they would take the Minnesota Timberwolves out to face the Indiana Pacers in the finals. A hard-fought seven-game series later, the Thunder walked away with their first NBA championship in franchise history.
Gilgeous-Alexander was key to their championship run, and he again proved to be the difference maker in their season opener. The the reigning MVP committed a key foul against former Thunder Kevin Durant to win the game against the Houston Rockets.
