Timberwolves, Kings knocked down as trade suitors for Ja Morant

I Morant and Memphis The Grizzlies could be headed for a breakout soon, as the team said they are listening to offers for the star quarterback. There could be teams jumping a chance to add a player like Morant to their team, but of course they want to do it at the right price.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are one team which explored adding top talent to their backcourt in addition to Anthony Edwards. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they’ll be chasing him because of his contract, according to NBA insider Jake Fisher.
“As much as Minnesota continues to explore its options in terms of improving its backcourt depth, I’m told they are looking at their mid-salary options. The Wolves are not expected to join the pursuit,” Fisher wrote.
The Sacramento Kings are another team that could use a point guard, but they aren’t interested in trading for Morant either.
“New Kings GM Scott Perry routinely talks about what he considers the organizational ‘pillars,’ which are characterized by principles like ‘discipline, accountability and professionalism.’
“The latter is the main stumbling block in any discussion regarding Toronto’s much-rumored interest in Domantas Sabonis, and all of the above appears to limit the likelihood of the Kings being a landing spot for Morant,” Fisher continued.
For now, it looks like the Grizzlies may have a hard time finding a team that wants Morant. There’s also one team emerging that will do whatever it takes to make an offer, but the Grizzlies also don’t appear to be in a rush to move on from Morant.
She could be out for the season when Morant is moved instead of the deadline.
