Tyrese Haliburton shares a birthday moment with Jonny Furphy

Tyrese Halliburton remains out of commission for Indiana Pacers because of an Achilles injury. Although his recovery is on track, there is still no clear timetable for his return.
Despite his unfortunate situation, Halliburton fully supported his teammates, joining them on the bench for almost every game. He has embraced being an emotional leader over the years, and The Pacers will need his strong voice in the midst of what has been a challenging campaign.
The 25-year-old guard also makes his teammates feel valued. He wore a Johnny Furfee jersey to the Pacers’ game against the Sacramento Kings on Monday to celebrate his 21st birthday. It was a simple but touching gesture from Halliburton.
The retro style of the jersey also got fans fired up.
“Halliburton represents Furfy? That’s cool,” he said @_Fort_Knok.
“He’s trying to send a message that EVERYONE NEEDS TO PUT THESE JERSEYS BACK,” he added @pacerslegend.
“No, this is sick. I need one,” echoed @AKIleii5.
“Hopefully that’s next year’s full-time uniform review,” published @Dcok_2.
“I’m begging you, change the brand next season. We are in desperate need of a kit refresh,” suggested @JazzPacers15.
Halliburton helped Furphy in his transition to the NBA. The second-year winger was selected 35th overall by the San Antonio Spurs, but was immediately traded to the Pacers.
Furphy, who hails from Australia, hasn’t seen much action this season despite Indiana’s injured roster. But he has shown glimpses of potential, particularly with his leaping ability and natural athleticism.
The Pacers have the third-worst record in the league at 5-18 entering their game against the Kings.
