Watch as Jimmy Butler hilariously corrects a reporter’s mistake with a wry smile

On Tuesday evening, The Golden State Warriors have improved their record to 4-1 in the young 2025-26 NBA season with a comfortable home win over the division rival Los Angeles Clippers. This was a rare game in the modern NBA where neither team reached 100 points, and Golden State won 98-79, so they didn’t need a lot of contributions from their stars in this one.

Jimmy Butler led the Warriors with 21 points, marking his second consecutive strong game after Monday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

After the game, a reporter asked Butler about his evolution from a three-and-D shooter when he first entered the league, and Butler hilariously he made sure to correct it.

“I came in like what? Maybe just defense. Not 3-and-D,” Butler said, per 95.7 The Game on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, Butler wasn’t known much for his outside shooting during his early years with the Chicago Bulls; however, he’s developed his offensive game tremendously over the years, and while he’s not necessarily lethal off the bounce these days, he’s still not someone you can leave open, having knocked down multiple 3-pointers in the win over Los Angeles.

The Golden State Warriors have already proven in the 2025-26 season that they can beat teams in a variety of ways, such as defensive matchups in their victory over the Clippers on Tuesday, or electric runs, such as in their victory over the Denver Nuggets last week.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise given the talented roster the team has been able to assemble, with Butler, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green leading the way, and some of the team’s younger players have stepped up so far this year.

There was little doubt that the Warriors would be a good team when healthy this year, but now fans are praying that the team’s stars will be able to stay on the floor consistently, given their collective age.

The Warriors will next take the floor on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
