Watch Baltimore’s season end on Tyler Lupp’s botched FG
Sports can be so cruel, and The Baltimore Ravens will want to forget on the fourth of January 2026 as quickly as possible given the way they lost a postseason berth to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the closing seconds of the all-important battle for the AFC North division crown, it looked like the Ravens were headed for the playoffs as they got within field goal range by two, 26-24, with two seconds left in the game.
Alas, placekicker Tyler Loup couldn’t convert from 44 yards out, and the Ravens were in the heartbreaking fashionmissed the playoffs — Lupp’s miss resulted in a 26-24 loss to the Steelers.
It’s bad enough when kickers miss any field goal attempt that isn’t from 50 yards or more. It’s doubly painful when they miss a shot that could have decided the game. No one at Acrisure Stadium feels worse than the Ravens kicker, though it at least helps that punter Jordan Stout patted Lupp on the head as the kicker wanted to bury himself on the ground in embarrassment.
The change of raven’s place haunts them again

The The Ravens had to make the right decision to let go longtime football player Justin Tucker last offseason amid accusations of sexual misconduct. This is in no way endorsing Tucker’s return to the NFL.
But it must be very frustrating for Baltimore to have someone with as sure-footed a history as Tucker saddled with terrible off-field baggage and have that departure come back to bite them in the biggest game of the season.
Fans are even calling for the Ravens to bring Tucker back, which shouldn’t even be considered considering the serious charges he’s facing. Now let’s hope Loop develops the sporting memory of a goldfish and puts this mishap in the rearview mirror.
