Watch this fan casually dunk at half court to win $10,000

Heading into Saturday’s game against the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers they wanted to start a mini-winning streak. It didn’t look so good from the post, as the 76ers trailed the Knicks by double digits early in the fourth quarter. But there was a source of amusement for 76ers fans as one fan knocked down a half court shot to win a $10,000 prize.
Many NBA teams hold half-court shooting contests during games, and this 76ers fan was able to convert the shot in two attempts. However, there was a bit of a catch in the prize money. The fan didn’t actually win $10,000, he won that amount in cryptocurrency.
Fan excitement from the half-shot aside, the The 76ers are trying to keep up into what has become a tough, mid-stack race in the Eastern Conference standings. They are currently 25-19 and in sixth place in the East, which would automatically guarantee them a playoff berth.
But they are just one game ahead of the No. 7 Orlando Magic and two games ahead of the No. 8 Miami Heat and have slipped into a playoff spot. Last season, the 76ers missed the playoffs due to season-ending injuries to Joel Embiid and Paul George. It was the first time the team missed the postseason since 2017.
But the 76ers were rewarded with a top-four pick in the 2025 NBA draft, which they used to select Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe. Edgecombe looked like a potential franchise building block in the midst of a strong rookie season so far.
So far this season, he has appeared in 39 games, with just over 35 minutes per game. He averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from the 3-point line and 76.6 percent from the free throw line.
