Zion Williamson scored the ultimate goal at the Olympics

The New Orleans PelicansZion Williamson remains a major problem for NBA defenders despite his ongoing injury woes. Williamson suffered a broken foot back in 2021 and since then he has had knee and hamstring problems, which have limited him to less than half of the Pelicans’ games since arriving as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

That’s in addition to questions about his weight and attitude toward the game, which were also raised during his recent interview with ESPN. per post on X from ClutchPoints. Sion ended up also talking about his desire to fight and represent his nation in the Olympics.

“It’s definitely a goal for me, and it would be a great honor to represent my country at the Olympics. But it comes back to, ‘I just have to make it happen.’ I can sit here and talk, but I have to go out there and earn my spot and show them why I feel like I deserve a spot,” he said.

A two-time All-Star, Williamson has yet to represent Team USA internationally. And while that may still be a long way off, the 25-year-old has already had quite the run.

“I’m having a lot of fun right now. It’s just that I can get up and I know I can go.” play for free in NBA games and you don’t have to worry about injuries.”

The Pelicans forward is averaging 21.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. And while the numbers can still improve, Sion has been feeling better physically lately.

“When I say the word free I’m mobile, my muscles are not tight, I feel relaxed… I don’t want to come out of the game… because I don’t feel tired.”

Zion went on to talk about how he saw New Orleans, claiming that it was his home and he dreamed of winning an NBA championship for the city. And as the striker himself said, there is a lot of work to do to make it happen.
