The Luka Doncic-Austin Reeves show is totally unstoppable

The Los Angeles Lakers are on the verge of tears, and it is increasingly clear why: Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves it’s not just networks; they dominate the league in a way that seems almost unfair.

After another win, a 133-121 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, Dončić uttered another eye-popping sentence: 34 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block, marking his sixth straight game with at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists, the longest such streak in franchise history.

Not Magic. Not Kobe. Not LeBron. Port.

And while Doncic continues to rewrite the Lakers’ record books, Austin Reeves quietly, and sometimes loudly, became the perfect star.

Their two-man game is fluid, unpredictable and completely unsolvable for opposing defenses.

Whether it’s Doncic pulling off a double press and freeing Reaves for a rhythm pull, or Reaves starting the set while Doncic punishes mismatches and late rotations, the Lakers’ offense is buzzing with a confidence it hasn’t seen in years.

Their dominance is not new; the duo torched the Dallas Mavericks earlier this month, combining for ridiculous numbers that fueled their current seven-game winning streak.

But what they’re doing now, game after game, is starting to generate a shift in tone throughout the league. What initially seemed like an experiment quickly became an identity.

When asked about running, Dončić did not to complicate. “Just keep doing what we’re doing.”

Hard to argue with that.

At 15-4, the Lakers sit near the top of the Western Conference, playing with swagger, efficiency and control. The defense knows what’s coming, and still can’t stop it.

The Luke-Reaves show is not a moment. It’s a movement. And it looks unstoppable right now.

If this continues, the question won’t be whether this pairing works; it will be how far they can take the Lakers in June.
