Donovan Mitchell’s new signature adidas DON number 8

As it is Cleveland Cavaliers continue to fight for another NBA playoff, Donovan Mitchell is having one of the best seasons of his career with 29.1 PPG, ranking sixth in the league. He continues his story with a long-time sponsor Adidas as the two sides prepare for the release of Mitchell’s eighth signature signature sneaker, the adidas DON No. 8.

Donovan Mitchell’s journey with Adidas began during his entry into the NBA in 2017 when he signed with Adidas, a well-known brand given their contract with the University of Louisville. After his ‘Rookie of the Year’ season, Adidas immediately restructured the deal to include a signature line of sneakers.

The adidas DON signature line was first launched in 2019, and the adidas DON Issue 6 has been favored by Mitchell over the past month. With DON number 7 still available from adidas until the end of the season, recent outlets have provided a first look at concepts for the upcoming release.

Adidas DON number 8

In the renders provided by SoleRetriever, we see an updated look at the upcoming silhouette of the DON Edition 8. With what appears to be a rubber spider web cage, the concept of “speed” is at the fore given the significance of the number eight to the spider. The mockups are made to resemble the primary, secondary and tertiary colors of the Cleveland Cavaliers, but we’re sure to see some loud colors and neon hues given Mitchell’s previous releases.

With no confirmed release date yet announced, the Adidas DON Edition 8 is expected to release in the second half of the 2026 calendar year, with a standard retail tag of $120. The shoes will become available through Adidas and Adidas retailers in large quantities, so be sure to grab the long-awaited release before it’s gone.
