Kevin Durant makes history, enters top 10 list against Spurs

The Houston Rockets host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night in a matchup of two of the West’s best. The Rockets entered the game ranked fourth in the conference at 28-16, just two games behind the Spurs. One of the biggest reasons for Houston’s success was his own offseason acquisition, Kevin Durant.
Durant, who is in his 19th season, is averaging over 26 points per game. As usual, his penchant for drilling shots from beyond the arc is a big part of his offensive game.
During the first quarter on Wednesday, Durant drained a three to put the Rockets up seven early. It was his 2,291. triple achieved during his illustrious career, to which he moved 10th place of all time.
History for KD!

In that, he overtook former Toronto Raptors legend Vince Carter. Although it took him almost 400 fewer games to reach that number.
The Rockets led 62-54 at halftime of the showdown with the Spurs. Durant had 13 points at halftime. KD came out firing to start the second half, nailing another 3-pointer to help build a 10-point lead.
The Rockets are primed to make a deep playoff run. Led by Durant, the team is deep and very talented. Alperen Sengun is among the rising stars of the game. Third-year forward Amen Thompson took a big step forward this year. While Reed Shepard continues to shine off the bench.
But this team could still be in contention with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Maybe that’s why there were rumors that the Rockets were among them potentially interested in a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
If the Rockets were able to pull it off, the duo of Giannis and Durant would surely be great.
