Zach LaVine posterizes Jaden McDaniels with an emphatic shot
At this point, the Sacramento Kings will undoubtedly take whatever positives they can in the midst of a bleak situation. Maybe they’re taking off huge win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, but they had another tough test on Monday in the form of the Minnesota Timberwolves. This will be another loss for a Kings team for which a trade seems pretty inevitable, but Zach LaVine they just won’t give up without a fight.
With less than six minutes left in the third quarter of the Kings’ contest against the Timberwolves, LaVine took a backdoor pass from lockdown defender Jaden McDaniel. This great move off the ball was spotted by DeMar DeRozan, who then passed the ball to his Kings teammate. The former slam dunk champion then went and threw a nasty tomahawk strike right on McDaniels’ grill to get the crowd going at the Golden 1 Center.
Lavin may be getting old, but he can still climb with the best of them. Considering how elite the Timberwolves can be defensively, a morale bucket like this is not something that should go unnoticed. Furthermore, a nasty dunk by one of the best defenders in the league in McDaniels must feel very good for LaVine on a more personal level.
With the Kings in disarray, maybe this is the dunk that helps the entire team wake up and realize just how dire the situation they’re in really is.
Can the Kings really turn things around?

Without fear of sounding like a broken record, the The Kings construction makes absolutely no sense. They have so many guards on the roster that need the basketball, and their defense is a mess. The return of Keegan Murray from injury helps bring a sense of balance back to the roster, but at the end of the day, this squad needs a major overhaul.
Still, this Kings team is showing some spirit. They came back from a 10-point deficit late against the Timberwolves on Monday and are pushing them to the brink. Can they really turn things around?
